About Alvi

I started cosplaying back in 2007 and have over 17 years of experience in cosplay as a regular convention goer, competition participant, guest and con organizer (Magicon). I have been to countless conventions both in Norway and internationally. I have made well over a hundred costumes throughout all these years. I am passionate and actively working to give Norwegian cosplayers more opportunities to show themselves internationally.

I work mostly with sewing and embroidery. My greatest passion is creative fabric choices and advanced embroidery techniques. I also focus a lot on performance and creative storytelling.

What I enjoy most about cosplay is bringing my favorite characters to life in a realistic way. This includes the entire creative process from the idea to the final result in the form of a photoshoot or performance. I like the depth and realism that is achieved in the costumes by using materials with texture and pattern. In addition, I am very concerned with the overall look of the costume, attention to detail, good fit and clean finish.

When it comes to performance, I'm a big fan of big performances that make the audience really feel the characters and conflicts in their lives, as well as being entertaining. I'm also always impressed by big, well-made stage props.

I have competed since 2010. I have participated in Banzaicon almost every year since 2014 and took second place in the master in 2023. In addition, I have participated in competitions at most other Norwegian conventions either alone or in duos. My next big dream is to get to a major international competition as a participant and not just as an organizer.

Has judged various competitions such as Desucon in Norway, GICOF in Korea and Unicon in Latvia.
